Participatory Democracy
The extent to which Montrealers are engaged in politics, including voting processes, is directly affected by their knowledge of the political system, interest in politics, and care about election outcomes. Involvement in political processes, though, is also affected by individuals’ understanding of the political system, including its complexity and their ability to participate in it despite the opacity of most political platforms and affairs.
Including all Montrealers in political processes is necessary for a healthy, vibrant, and inclusive democracy.
