Transportation

Low-income neighbourhoods in Montreal have disproportionately poor access to public transportation services, green spaces, and recreational facilities, including parks, community centres, and sports infrastructure. This disparity has tangible consequences on the health and life expectancy of Montrealers, and must be adequately addressed by the municipal government. Only 2% of Montreal roads have bike paths. This must increase to 10% in the next 4-6 years in effort to connect the Reseaux de Velo to all boroughs in Montreal.

#1

Create a “fare-geared-to-income” transit pass subsidized by the municipal government

#4

Improve Montreal’s accessibility through a sidewalk renewal project that prioritizes curb-cuts on all major intersections, ramps allowing easy access to all government and healthcare buildings, and universal accessibility in all transit stations

#2

Establish a partnership with the STM to offer transportation services free of charge to all full-time students

#3

Invest in building city-wide bike paths, including a plan to connect the Reseaux de Velo to all of Montreal’s boroughs
